Graveside services for Mr. R.W. Christie, 77, of Hedley, TX will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, TX with Rev. Anthony Knowles, officiating. Burial is under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Christie passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 in Hedley, TX. R.W. was born December 23, 1933 in Boyd City, OK to the late Mr. Bob Christie and Mrs. Sylvia (Denny) Christie. He was a 1951 graduate of Dumas High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He has lived in Hedley for the last 30 years. He married Eleanor Lewis in Hedley, TX. R.W. worked for Donley County in the road construction department. He is preceded in death by five brothers, Marvin, Melvin, Charles, Manford and Basil and a sister-in-law, Willa Christie. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Christie of Hedley, TX; two sons, Rex Christie and wife Stephanie and Wayne Christie and wife Kay all of Dumas, TX; two brothers, Keith Christie and wife Betty of Dumas, TX; Kenneth Christie of Dallas, TX; one sister, Ruby Dermody of O’Fallon, IL; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
