Rose Whitsitt

Services for Rose Whitsitt, 69, of Higgins, Texas, will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Canadian, TX with John Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Whitsitt passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. Rose was born on May 13, 1938 in Canadian, TX to the late Mr. Cecil Morrow and Mrs. Victoria “Babe” Morrow. She attended school in Canadian High School. She married John Whitsitt on October 20, 1956 in Clay County. Rose has been a life long resident of Hemphill County and Lipscomb County. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Lee Whitsitt, two brothers, Dub and Joe Morrow and one sister, Mary Helen Hand. Rose is survived by her husband, John Whitsitt of Higgins, TX; three daughters, Victoria Gowdy of Frisco, TX; Lee Ann Julian and husband John of Canadian, TX; Billie Jo Olivas of Brentwood, TN; two brothers, George Morrow of Canadian, TX; Eddie Bob Morrow of Darrouzett, TX; two sisters, Laura Mae Miller of Jackson, TN; Ann Burnett of Williston, ND; six grandchildren, Tamera, Kimbra and Ike Julian all of Canadian, TX; Chris and McKenzie Gowdy both of Frisco, TX and Christian Olivas of Brentwood, TN. The family suggests memorials be sent to Higgins EMS, Box 291, Higgins, TX 79046 or to the YMCA Youth Program, P.O. Box 1106, Canadian, TX 79014.
