Services for Chris Butler, 26, of Higgins, TX, will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at The River Church in Canadian, TX with Donald Hill, officiating and Rev. Rick Timmons, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Chris passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Higgins, TX. Chris was born September 27, 1984 in Canadian, TX to Mr. Loren Butler and Mrs. Sylvia (Wilson) Francis. He attended grammar school in Wilson, OK and was a 2004 graduate of Azel High School in Azel, TX. He married Cortney Steen on May 22, 2010 in Calvin, OK. Chris worked as an electrician. He is survived by his wife, Cortney Butler of Higgins, TX; his son, Landon Butler of Higgins, TX; his father, Loren Butler of Shattuck, OK; his mother and step father, Sylvia and Kip Francis of Poteau, OK; four brothers, Jesse Butler of Canadian, TX; Zachary Butler of Savannah, GA; Billy Barnett of Yukon, OK; Jarry Francis of Fairbanks, AK; three sisters, Vanessa Butler of Fort Worth, TX; Whitney Martinez of Canadian, TX; Alicia Francis of Edmond, OK; his grandparents, Cecil and Margaret Satterlee of Calvin, OK and Curtis and Pat Francis of Canadian, TX; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Lori Steen of Canadian, TX; his sister-in-law, Jessica Steen of Canadian, TX; several aunts, uncles and close friends.
