Services for H.D. “Pokey” Fowler, 72, of Memphis, TX will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Boles, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Fowler died on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in Waxahachie, TX. Pokey was born on May 2, 1935 in Leslie, TX to the late Mr. Ennis Fowler and Mrs. Alta Karnes Fowler . He attended schools in Leslie, TX. He was a lifelong resident of Hall County. He owned and operated Fowler Automotive for 20 plus years and he was also a Christian. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by two sons, Terry Fowler of Memphis, TX; Doug Fowler and wife Lizan of McAllen, TX; two daughters, Sandra Vernon and husband Sam of Midlothian, TX; Kimi Amason of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Bill Fowler of Memphis, TX; Doyle Fowler of Alvarado, TX; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Fowler, Stephen Fowler and Scott Fowler all of Clarendon, TX; Casi Reed of Amarillo, TX; Charli Amason of Lubbock, TX; Rafe Fowler, Morgan Fowler and Kelley Fowler all of McAllen, TX and one great-granddaughter, Makenna Reed of Amarillo.
