William "Bill" Meek

Graveside services for Mr. William “Bill” Meek, 68, of Durham, OK will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery in Durham, OK with Brother Darryl Moore, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Meek passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Bill was born April 6, 1943 to the late Mr. Jacob Edward Meek and Mrs. Margaret Ann (Shindell) Meek. He was a graduate of Canadian High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1966. Bill married Joyce Yvonne Babitzke on August 7, 1971 in Canadian, TX. He was a farmer and rancher in the Durham and Canadian area for the past 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Meek of Durham, OK; two sons, Chris Meek of Canadian, TX and Delf Meek of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandson, Jacob Meek of Canadian, TX; three sisters, JoNell York and husband Donnie of Durham, OK, Patricia Eischen and husband Jim of El Reno, OK, Barbara Day of Arlington, TX; his brother-in-law, Dickie Babitzke and wife Debbie of Darrouzett, TX; his father in law, Chris Babitzke of Canadian, TX; 6 Nieces and 4 nephews.
