Rosary services for Manuela Narvaez, 91, of Memphis, TX, will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jim Schmitmeyer, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Manuela passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Childress, TX. She was born June 17, 1920 in De Kalb, TX to the late Mr. Blas Lopez and Mrs. Francisca (Cassares) Lopez. She married Bruno Narvaez on June 10, 1945 in Sinton, TX. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1997. They moved to Memphis, TX in 1962 from Sinton, TX. Manuela was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, Blas and Pablino “Sonny” Narvaez. She is survived by three sons, Angel Narvaez and wife Yolanda of Memphis, TX; Isaac Narvaez and wife Isabel of Amarillo, TX; Cisco Narvaez and wife Delia of San Angelo, TX; five daughters, Mary Casas and husband Joe, Janie Garza and husband Arturo, Gloria Perez and husband Manuel and Eva Garcia and husband Richard all of Memphis, TX; Petra Garcia and husband Victor Jr. of Amarillo, TX; one brother and three sisters, two daughter-in-laws, Janie and Eva Narvaez both of Memphis, TX; 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
