LaJean Minnick

Services for LaJean Minnick, 77, of Helena, OK, will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Helena, OK with Jay Drawbridge, officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Helena, OK under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Minnick passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. LaJean was born on January 19, 1930 in Orienta, OK to the late Mr. Earl Eubank and Mrs. Ruth Webster Eubank. She was a 1948 graduate of Fairview High School where she was Valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society. She then went on and attended Northwestern State College where she was a member of the Delta Sigma Epsilon social sorority and the Secretary of the Student Christian Association. She married Glen Minnick on January 20, 1951 in Fairview, OK. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2002. LaJean worked for the State of Oklahoma for 20 plus years until retiring in 1997 as a clerical clerk. She was a member of the Junior Homemakers in Helena, OK and the First Christian Church. She moved to Canadian, TX on September 1, 2003 from Enid, OK. She was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Alan Minnick on October 31, 1954. She is survived by three daughters, Terri McCormick and husband Randy of Canadian, TX; Christi Scritchfield and husband David of Guymon, OK; Mary Jo Stewart of Yukon, OK; one sister, Earlene McCune and husband Marion of Enid, OK; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014. The body will lie in state at the First Christian Church from 11:00AM until service time on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.
