Services for Mary Jolene Norton Thompson, 75, of Amity, AR, will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Memphis, TX with Brother David Haacke, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mrs. Thompson passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in Electra, TX. Jolene was born September 20, 1936 in Quail, TX to the late Mr. Russell Norton and Mrs. Arness (Thompson) Norton. Jolene moved to Amity, AR in 1990 from Memphis, TX. She married Frank Thompson on August 22, 2000 in Amity, AR. She enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, yard work and working with the church. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank as well as her husband Red, her two sons, Jimmy and Randy Thompson, Daughter-in-law, Florence, her brother, R.L. Norton and her sister, Patricia Skinner. She is survived by her husband, Frank Thompson of Amity, AR; three sons, Carol Thompson and wife D’Lynn of Rockdale, TX; Danny Thompson and wife Drenda of Hammond, OK; Daryl Thompson and wife Betty of Amarillo, TX; two brothers, Johnny Norton of Oklahoma City, OK; Larry Norton and wife Darlene of Quitaque, TX; her sister-in-laws, Marie Norton of Denver, CO; Faye Kelley of South Carolina; Mary Johnson of Amarillo, TX; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hughs Funeral Home, 514 N 10th St., Memphis, TX 79245.
