James Howard Johnson

Services for James Howard Johnson, 67, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 26, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Johnson passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 in Amarillo, TX. James was born August 22, 1944 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Bob Wesley Johnson and Mrs. Mary Helen (Robertson) Johnson. He attended schools in Memphis, TX. He loved attending church at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. James also loved playing the french harp. He could play it very well. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Johnson, Dave Johnson, CD Johnson, Lorenzo Cecil Johnson and two sisters, Minnie Mae Harris and Jean Ruth Gaint. He is survived by four brothers, Jessie Lee Johnson of Plainview, TX; Starlin Johnson Sr. of Amarillo, TX; Larry Olin Johnson of Memphis, TX; Charles Edward Johnson of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Birdie Mae Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
