Oneta "Sissie" Schoene

Services for Oneta “Sissie” Schoene, 96, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Sissie passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 in Canadian, TX. Sissie was born September 28, 1915 in Higgins, TX to the late Mr. Perry Hazlewood and Mrs. Elizabeth (Reimer) Hazlewood. She attended schools in Canadian, TX. She married Sidney Eugene Schoene on February 5, 1942 in Arnett, OK. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1962. They moved to Amarillo, TX in 1954 and she moved back to Canadian in 1976. While living in Amarillo she worked as a doctor’s assistant and office manager for Dr. Cradit and Dr. Scott. Sissie enjoyed working as a volunteer for Hemphill County Hospice and Edward Abraham Memorial Home. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, J.D. Parker. She is survived by her close friend, Shirley Flowers of Canadian, TX and her church family. The family suggests memorials be made to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home Activity Fund, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014.
