Ruth Holt

Services for Ruth (Cobb) Holt, 84, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Holt passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Canadian, TX. Ruth was born September 6, 1927 in Wagoner, OK to the late Mr. Gilbert Benson Cobb and Mrs. Nettie (Sullivan) Cobb. She attended grammar school at River Side School in Wagoner, OK and was a 1945 graduate of Wagoner High School. She married Allen Holt on October 19, 1945 in Fayetteville, AR. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1984. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1972 from Perryton, TX. Ruth worked for the Canadian Pharmacy for 30 plus years. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church She is survived by her son, Leonard Holt and wife Kathy of Panhandle, TX; two brothers, Bill Cobb of Wagoner, OK; Bob Cobb of Tulsa, OK; three sisters, Isabel Allen, Nettie Henson and Betty Center all of Wagoner, OK; four grandchildren, Dugan Holt and Jonathan Holt both of Amarillo, TX; Kathryn Sims of Panhandle, TX; Sarah Chaney of White Deer, TX and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hughs Funeral Home, 203 South 3rd St., Canadian, TX. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 520 Main St., or a Favorite Charity.
