Graveside services for Glenn Callahan, 71, of Memphis, TX will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Milton Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Callahan passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. Glenn was born December 3, 1940 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Olin “Shorty” Callahan and Mrs. Edith (Henry) Callahan. He was a 1959 graduate of Memphis High School. Glenn work for the Roach Prison Unit until retiring in 2003. He was also a farmer and a lifelong resident of Hall County. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Childress, TX. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jimmie Dean McElreath. He is survived by one son, Jerel Callahan of Memphis, TX; three daughters, Debbie Hill and husband Bryan of Weatherford, TX; Karen Verstuyft of Willow Park, TX; Terri Callahan and husband Floyd of Plano, TX; one brother, Billy Mitchell and wife Renee of Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Norma Stargell and husband Roddy of Lubbock, TX; 9 grandchildren, Katilyn Callahan of Childress, TX; Ashley Hill of Weatherford, TX; Lauren Christenson and husband Blake of Willow Park, TX; Allison Hill of Amarillo, TX; Justin Alexander and wife LaRae of Hedley, TX; Jordan Love and husband Jamie of Dallas, TX; Will Verstuyft of Willow Park, TX; Kallie Verstuyft of Clarendon, TX; Madalyn Verstuyft of Willow Park, TX and one great grandchild, Casen Christenson of Willow Park, TX.
