Services for Nellie B. Osborn Campbell, 78, of Lakeview, TX, will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Johnnie Snider officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeview, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Campbell passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2005 in Lakeview, TX. She was born on October 19, 1926 in Brice, TX to the late Duke Osborn and Nell (Hagin) Osborn. She grew up in Quail, TX and graduated from Quail High School in 1944. She married Perry Clark Campbell on December 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2001. Mrs. Campbell lived in Lakeview, TX for over 45 years, moving there from Brice, TX in the 1950's. She worked for the Lakeview Post Office for 34 years as a mail carrier and later as the Postmistress. She was the secretary for the Lakeview Cemetery Association and was a member of the Lakeview City Council. Mrs. Campbell was a member of First Baptist Church in Lakeview, TX. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Monte "Max" Campbell on May 19, 2005; a grandson, Clint Campbell, in January of 2005; and three brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lou McKenzie of Mililani, HI; five grandchildren, Jeni McKenzie; Jason McKenzie; Connie Goudy; Larry Campbell; and Carla Campbell; ten great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Dixie Barbee of Lakeview, TX; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Campbell of Houston, TX; one son-in-law, Dr. Bill McKenzie of Pearl City, HI; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lakeview Cemetery Association, Lakeview, TX 79239.
