Lois King Flowers Canadian: (Special) - Services for Lois King Flowers, 95, of Canadian, TX will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Watkins, officiating and Dr. Jerry Golden, assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Flowers died Saturday, June 11, 2005 in Canadian, TX. She was born on February 8, 1910 in Ochiltree County to the late Mrs. Cora Ann White King. Lois attended grammar school in Waka, TX and was a graduate of Perryton High School. She then attended one semester at West Texas Normal College. She married Gilman Flowers on October 22, 1930 in Ochiltree County. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Tri C Club and was a room mother for the Canadian Independent School District. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Sue Flowers, four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by three sons, Joe Flowers and wife Sammie of Gage, OK; Roy Flowers and wife Ann of Spearman, TX; Wayne Flowers and wife Sally of Canadian, TX; five daughters, Frances Newell of Canadian, TX; Zella Meeks and husband Bob of Richardson, TX; Pat Schaef and husband Larry of Boswell, OK; Vickie Bolin and husband Bob of Dallas, TX; Dixie Cook and husband George of Canadian, TX; 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family suggest memorials be to the First Baptist Church, 706 Main, Canadian, TX 79014 or Abraham Edward Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
