Canadian, TX: A Funeral Service for Darrel Edward Stephens, 57, of Canadian, TX will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Canadian, TX, with Rev. Dr. David E. Williams of Locust Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Darrel passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Canadian, TX. Darrel was born on November 3, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM, to Mr. George Edward and Ruth Arlene (McIver) Stephens. He graduated from Sandia High School in Albuquerque in 1972. He married Deana Rae Rogers on November 19, 1998. Prior to moving to Canadian, Darrel was the general manager of R&C Bodyworks of Albuquerque. He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at Hemphill County Hospital. He loved to hunt and fish and everything else outdoors. He also enjoyed working with automobiles and spending time at the carwash. He loved his family and his hospital family very much. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Denise Marie Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Deana Stephens of Canadian, TX; his children, Jamie Michelle Stephens and Nic Edward Stephens, and their mother, Debbie Stephens all of Albuquerque, NM, his father, George Edward Stephens, a brother, Larry Stephens & wife Lena of Albuquerque, NM, two sisters, Joyce Masoncup & husband Lee of Rio Rancho, NM, and Carla Granger of Mt. Pleasant, AR, his mother & father-in-law, Pat & Garlon Rogers, his brother & sister-in-law, Scott & Christy Francis and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Hemphill County Hospice.
