Services for Mrs. June Leary, 88, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Boles, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Leary passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 in Childress, TX. June was born on August 10, 1919 in Fort Worth, TX to the late Mr. Forrest Power and Mrs. Gladys Denny Power. She was a 1936 graduate of Memphis High School and went on to attend West Texas State University. She married Don Leary on November 21, 1948 in Memphis, TX at the First Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1983. She was a lifelong resident of Memphis, TX and a member of the Red River Red Hatters Club. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church and later became a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by three nieces, Betty Rogers of Dallas, TX; Cathy Leary of New Orleans, LA; Susan Leary of Childress, TX; six nephews, Paul Garner of San Diego, CA; Bob Williams of Montgomery AL; Don Leary of Venezuela, South America; Michael Leary of Seattle, WA; Marvin Leary of Portland, TX; Ed Leary of Childress, TX; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Leary of Seattle, WA; special friend, Tom Bob Harrison of Memphis, TX; four cousins, Linda Jane Davis of Greensboro, NC; Carol Tollison of Gruver, TX; Denny Roberts of Georgetown, TX; Courtney Crisler of Amarillo, TX; and many friends, neighbors and church family.
