Services for Wesley “Sonny” Childress, 58, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at The River Ministries with Mac Purcell, officiating and Daryle Perry, assisting. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Sonny passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 in Canadian, TX. Sonny was born June 3, 1954 in Liberal, KS to the late Mr. Cloris Childress and Mrs. Vera (Bennett) Childress. He attended schools in Canadian. He was a lifelong resident of Canadian and worked as a dozer operator for Kauk Construction. He was also a member of the Central Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Terrin Heath Childress of Tennessee; his daughter, Chiron Childress of Tennessee; his brother, Butch Murray of Lefors, TX; four sisters, Carolyn Simpson of Lefors, TX; Ann Murray of Beloit, WI; Claudia Howard of Lindsay, OK; Susan Welch of Quinlan, TX and the love of his life were his two dogs, Bumper and Bob.
