Martha Lou Moss

Services for Mrs. Martha Lou Moss, 93, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Moss passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 in Childress, TX. Mrs. Moss was born on January 24, 1915 in Alvord, TX to the late Mr. Connie Allen McClure and Mrs. Maudie Mae Mosley McClure. Her family moved to the east plains of Crosby County when she was an infant, where she was also raised. She was a graduate of Crosbyton High School. She attended Amarillo Junior College, Texas Tech University and was a graduate of West Texas State University. She married Robert L. Moss at Williams Air Force Field on August 24, 1942 in Chandler, AZ. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1999. Mrs. Moss was a member of the First Baptist Church and a long time Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Woman’s Culture Club, a lifetime member of P.T.A. and a retired school teacher. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Mack Moss on July 19, 1998. She is survived by one son, Jerry Moss and wife Leslie of Palouse, WA; her daughter-in-law, Sherry Moss of Greenville, TX; one sister, Connie Allen and husband Brice of Crosbyton, TX; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Clark and husband Robert of Memphis, TX; two brother-in-law’s, James Moss and wife Sarah Ann of Memphis, TX and M.A. Powell of Crosbyton, TX; eight grandchildren, Con Moss and wife Brandi, Caleb Moss, Gideon Moss, Hannah Moss, Elijah Moss, Noah Moss, Micah Moss and Enoch Moss all of Greenville, TX and by a million friends.
