Tim Upton Sr.

Services for Mr. Tim Upton Sr., 43, of Memphis will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Ator, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Upton passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 in Hall County. Tim was born on July 31, 1964 in Memphis, TX to Mr. J.C. Upton and Mrs. Mary Helen McKee Upton. He was a graduate of Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX. He also attended truck driving school where he received his Commercial Driver’s License. He married Jackie Wilson on August 1, 1986 in Amarillo, TX. They moved back to Memphis in 1996 from Amarillo. He was a member of the Travis Baptist Church in Memphis. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Childress, TX, Estelline Volunteer Fire Department and was a rancher. He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy J. Upton Jr. on May 5, 1997 and one daughter Britney Upton Rodriguez on June 3, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Upton of Memphis; his parents, J.C. and Mary Helen Upton of Memphis; one brother, Casey Upton and wife Amanda of Pampa, TX; two sisters, Cindy Horton and Debbie Arnold both of Amarillo; his mother-in-law, Claire Kester of Amarillo; his son-in-law, Gus Rodriguez of Memphis; one grandson, Timothy Jose “Tooter” Rodriguez of Memphis; and many nieces and nephews.
