Memorial service for Linda Allene Adams Fox, 71, of Keller, TX will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM in Vero Beach, FL with Rev. Jack Diehl, officiating. Inurnment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Garden Cemetery in Fort Pierce, FL under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Linda Allene Adams Fox died May 14, 2013 in Fort Worth, TX from complications relating to Multiple Sclerosis. Linda Allene Adams Fox was born June 16, 1941 in Canadian, TX to Walter Adams and Agnes Alford Adams. She attended schools in New Mexico, Montana, and Nebraska and graduated from Canadian High School in 1958. She graduated from West Texas State College with a degree in Music Education. She performed in various college productions while she was at West Texas State as well as being Assistant Music Director and performing in the outdoor drama “Texas”. She was the choir director at Tulia and Canyon High Schools before moving to New York City in 1969. After moving to New York City, she was the Assistant Music Director for the Light Opera of Manhattan, administrative and Musical Director of Thompkins Square Playhouse, Director of Operations with Torrence Associates, a concert artist manager for various musicians, including Virgil Fox. She sang with various choral groups in New York City and was a soloist at the Church of the Epiphany in Manhattan. She married James Fox in New York City on February 14, 1976. When she married Jim, she became a mother to 5 and a grandmother to 1. She brought great love and devotion to all of Jim’s family. The Fox family moved to Teaneck, New Jersey in 1978 where she worked for the Chadwyck-Healey publishing company and was Music Director at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey. In 1988, they moved to Vero Beach, Florida where she and Jim immediately became involved in the musical community. She was a member of the Vero Beach Theatre Guild where she was director, performer and producer of many productions. She was President and Director of the Vero Beach Opera Guild where she also performed, directed and produced. She was the Music Director of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she also directed the Children’s and Handbell Choirs. In the many years that Linda was active in Vero Beach, she was either directly involved with or her advice was sought for almost every musical event that took place in the Vero Beach vicinity. She loved music of all kinds and loved teaching music to anyone who showed any interest no matter what age. She had a tremendous influence in the musical community through her voice studio. She taught young and accomplished musicians and had more than 100 students. Linda’s love and appreciation of music will be passed down for generations by her family who loved her dearly and will greatly miss her. In 2004, she moved to Keller, Texas with her sister, Denise Adams to be closer to her Texas family where she lived until her death. She is preceded in death by her husband, James, her father, Walter W. Adams and her mother, Agnes Allene Adams, her brother, Charles Adams and her dearly loved stepdaughter, Pamela Dare. Linda is survived by her loving stepchildren, Jimmy Fox and wife, Christa, of Burlington, Vt.; John Fox and wife, Mary Pat, of Nyack, NY; Dennis Fox and wife, Beth of Tappan, NY and daughter, Suzie Fox of Palisades, NY. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Denise Adams of Keller, TX, her sister, Diane Norris and husband Jerel Norris of Canadian, TX, her sister-in-law, Katrina Chang Adams of Washington, DC and her brother, Wade Adams and wife, Mert of Houston, TX; she is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews.
