Services for Mrs. Hazel Nix Jones, 92, of Memphis will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Snider, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Jones passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 in Memphis, TX. Hazel was born February 20, 1916 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Claude Nix and Mrs. Nora Ann (Quine) Nix. She attended school in Memphis, TX. She married Walter Wade Jones on November 9, 1935 in Plaska, TX. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1970. Hazel worked for the Hall County Hospital as a cook for 22 years. She was a Baptist and a lifelong resident of Memphis, TX. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Sue Travino, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Dale Jones of Davenport, IA; Eddie Jones of Amarillo, TX; Jerry Jones of Memphis, TX; one daughter, Sandra Kay Jones of Memphis, TX; one brother, Robert Nix of Phoenix, AZ; one sister Betty Nix of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
