Graveside services for Rondal “Sparky” Evans, 86, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Donald Hill, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Sparky passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Pampa, TX. Sparky was born September 27, 1927 in Zybach, TX to the late Mr. A.B. Evans and Mrs. Velma (Hall) Evans. He attended schools in Allison, TX. He married Opal Isch on December 4, 1948 in Wheeler, TX. They moved to Canadian in 1967 from Lipscomb County. Sparky worked as a street superintendant for the City of Canadian until retiring in 1988. He has also worked on various ranches on and off his entire life and helped with the family farming. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Opal Evans of Canadian, TX; two sons, Ronnie Evans of Higgins, TX; Robbie Evans of Canadian, TX; one daughter, Cathy Mauricio of Yukon, OK; one sister, Estelle Montgomery of Marble Falls, TX; two grandchildren, Brian Gallardo of Tulsa, OK; Travis Mauricio of Yukon, OK and two great-grandchildren, Cambry Mauricio of Yukon, OK; Rayven Gallardo of Tulsa, OK. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
