Doris Perkins

Memphis, TX -- Services for Doris L. Perkins, 71, of Memphis, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the Church of Christ in Memphis, TX, with Tom Anderson officiating, assisted by Loran Harper. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Perkins passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2005 in Memphis, TX. She was born on May 13, 1934 in Lakeview, TX to Othell Spruill and the late R.B. Spruill, Sr. She grew up in the Lakeview and Memphis area, and married Rowland Harris Perkins on March 10, 1950 in Memphis. Mrs. Perkins lived in Amarillo for 27 years and was a former member of the Lion's Club in Amarillo, and the Comanche Church of Christ. She returned to Memphis in 2000, where she was presently a member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her mother, Othell Spruill of Memphis, TX; 3 daughters, Mary Flowers of Amarillo, TX; Nancy George and husband Joe of Memphis, TX; and Patty Fairchild and husband Jeff of Vega, TX; 8 grandchildren, Acasha Perkins; Gregory Gresham; Jeffrey Gresham; Chris George; Lori Fairchild; Lindsay Fairchild; Tyler Fairchild; and Logan Fairchild; a brother, R.B. Spruill, Jr. and wife Carol of Corpus Christi, TX; a siter, Lena Sue Martinez and husband Cecil of Memphis, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
