Wanda B. Cook

Services for Mrs. Wanda B. Cook, 89, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God with Lee Young, officiating and David Young, assisting. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX.  Wanda passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Canadian, TX.  Wanda was born June 10, 1924 in Duke, OK to the late Mr. Arthur and Indiana Andrews. She attended schools in Prairie Grove, AR. She married Harold Chaffin on August 27, 1945 in Wheeler, TX. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1970. She then married Charlie Cook on February 10, 1973 in Canadian, TX. He preceded her in death in 1989. Wanda was a homemaker and a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Johnny D. Chaffin and Larry Chaffin Jr. and 6 brothers, Troy, Ulan, Robert, Arlie, Kenneth and Fred Andrews and her sister, Wilma A. Olsen.  She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Chaffin and wife Polly; Smiley Chaffin and Larry Chaffin Sr. all of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Carol Gutierrez and husband Joe; Donna Carter and husband Todd; and Charlene Segovia all of Canadian, TX; 24 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.  The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014 or Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014.
