Dan Clower Jr.

Graveside services for Dan Clower Jr., 75, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Andy Taylor, officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX.   Dan passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Booker, TX.   Dan was born July 28, 1938 in Portales, NM to the late Mr. Daniel Clower Sr. and Mrs. Estelle (Wright) Clower.  He graduated high school in 1957 in Gentry, AR.  He served in the United States Coast Guard.  He moved to Canadian in 1976 from Amarillo.  Dan married Carmelita Stephenson on January 22, 1978 in Canadian.  She preceded him in death on December 15, 2000.  Dan worked for the City of Canadian, he was a mechanic and a rancher.  He was also a member of the First Christian Church.  He was preceded in death by his step daughter, Shari Crothers, two brothers and two sisters.     He is survived by his children, Randall Clower of Pasco, WA; Kelly Chester of Amarillo, TX; Cody Clower of Amarillo, TX; Pam Hendrick of Amarillo, TX; his step son, Joed Dendy of Yukon, OK; two sisters, Laquida Parker of Wichita, KS; Viola Winters of Ashdown, AR; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.   The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014
