Patsy Fairchild

Patsy Elizabeth Fairchild, finished her battle with cancer on August 9, 2008. She departed this mortal world for the Savior’s warm embrace at 10:47pm. She is preceded to the gates of pearl by her parents, sister, husband and two children. She leaves behind her children, Richard Frank, Quentin, Sally McDermitt and Nancy Sommerfeld; grandchildren, David Fairchild, Shawn McDermitt, Matt Hopper, Elizabeth “Beth” Sommerfeld, Raquel Fairchild, Tanya Hopper, Michelle “Chellie” Sommerfeld, Sara Fairchild, Anthony “Tony” Sommerfeld and Richard James “Ricky” Fairchild; her sister, Marion Jenkins; nieces, Billie and Sara and nephew, Mike; seven great-grandchildren; many friends from churches and evangelistic organizations as well as the FV Senior Center. Patsy was born September 2, 1930 to Horace “Bill” and Ruth (Stedman) Rupe in Canadian, TX. She moved around to Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. She graduated high school in Tribune, KS and attended college in Sterling and Okulmugee prior to marrying Richard “Dick” Fairchild who she had four live children with. The marriage lasted for 45 years until his death in 1995. She worked not only as a loving wife and mother but at many jobs to keep her family supported. In later life she returned to school to earn a license as a Touch For Life Practitioner and a Message Therapist giving comfort to many. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 13th from 4-7pm at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Hwy 85/87, Fountain, CO. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 9am at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Hwy 85/87, Fountain, CO. Graveside services will be Friday, August 15, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX.
