Darrell McPherson, 76, of Canadian, TX passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Canadian, TX. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Hughs Funeral Home from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Darrell was born September 21, 1937 in Higgins, TX to the late Mr. William “Bill” McPherson and Mrs. Ethel (Guffey) McPherson. He attended schools in Canadian, TX. He married Rita Neu on November 27, 1957 in Albuquerque, NM. He worked as a salesman for Ag Chem Products until retiring in 1997. He moved back to Canadian in 2013 from Memphis, TX. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Sasser and one brother, Denny McPherson. He is survived by his wife; Rita McPherson of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Bill McPherson of Clovis, NM; Berlyn McPherson of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Tammy Lewis of Higgins, TX; Kandra Jones of Merkel, TX; three brothers, Hob McPherson of La Honda, CA; Hank McPherson of Canadian, TX; Freddy McPherson of Freer, TX; one step-brother, Gary Spicer of Shattuck, OK and one step-sister, Connie Spicer of Laverne, OK; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
