Services for Glenn Thomas Stilwell, 80, of Memphis, TX, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Littleton, CO. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Stilwell passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Memphis, TX. He was born on September 11, 1925 in Memphis, TX to the late Loomis Adolphus Stilwell and Sophie (Gay) Stilwell. He grew up in Hall County and graduated from Memphis High School in 1943. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 until 1945, and also attended West Texas State University in Canyon for two years. Mr. Stilwell married Jacqueline Rape on November 20, 1950 in Los Alamos, NM. He worked as a pipefitter for Johnson Controls and Stearns-Roger, having worked for nine years on the Alaska Pipeline. He retired in 1987. Mr. Stilwell was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis. He was also commander of the American Legion for many years, and was active in the Memphis Lions Club. He is survived by five daughters, Virginia Livingston and husband Wally of Centennial, CO; Debbie Gayle Stude and family of Phoenix, AZ; Carolyn Bennet and husband Bill of Prescott, AZ; Elizabeth Smith and husband Matt of Lone Tree, CO; and Alison Compton and husband Scott of Golden, CO; two sisters, Doris Flynt of Dimmitt, TX and Gayle Johnson of Cibolo, TX; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, or the National Jewish Hospital, 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO 80206.
