Graveside services for Mr. J P Keeton Jr., 82, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie, TX with David Young, officiating and Dr. Dean English, assisting. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Keeton passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 in Hemphill County, Texas. J P was born March 26, 1926 in Pearl, TX to the late Mr. J P Keeton Sr. and Mrs. Flora (Freeman) Keeton. He attended schools in Hemphill County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Kathryn (Skaggs) on July 19, 1952 in Mobeetie, TX. He was a rancher and a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Keeton of Canadian, TX; two sons, Carey Keeton and wife Shirley and John Perry Keeton all of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Kathy Carr and husband David of Canadian, TX; Donna Burkett and husband Lanny of Lamesa, TX; one brother, Glen Keeton of Lockney, TX; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
