Alpha Leota Tyner

Graveside services for Alpha Leota Tyner, age 91 of Memphis, TX, will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX, with Rev. Daniel Downey, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Tyner passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Amarillo, TX. She was born on September 5, 1917 in Park Springs, TX to the late Charley Wesley Wines and Mattie Ruth (McKay) Wines. She grew up Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School as Valedictorian of her class. After graduating, she opened Leota’s Beauty Shop, which she owned and operated for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she had served as church secretary for quite some time. She married William Tyner, who preceded her in death.
