William E. Day

Graveside services for William E. Day, age 85 of Crosby, Texas, will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 9 AM to 1 PM at Hughs Funeral Home. Mr. Day was born on June 26, 1923 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester Day. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School and of West Texas State University. He served four years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his retirement, William was a District Director with the Yexas Employment Division. After retiring, William and his wife traveled the country in their RV, settling in Crosby in 1995. William is preceded in death by his wife Naomi (Ables) Day, his parents Lester and Sarah (Morrison) Day, and one sister. Survivors include three sons, William M. Day and wife Suzanne of Crosby, Edgar A. Day and wife Karen of Sentinel, WO, and Danny R. Day and wife Betty of Dallas; one brother, Ted Day amd wife Jean of Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
