Graveside Services for Delia Ward, 91, of Memphis, TX, will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, TX, with Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Ward passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2006 in Memphis, TX. She was born on July 01, 1914 in Tuscahoma, OK to the late Newman Pounds and Minnie Pounds. She grew up in Oklahoma, and married Alvin Ward on August 15, 1931 in Colgate, OK. Over the years, they lived in Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas. They returned to Memphis, TX 25 years ago. Mrs. Ward was a housewife. She is survived by her husband Alvin Ward of Memphis, TX; one daughter, Vere Mauldin of Memphis, TX; two sons, Gerald Ward of Memphis, TX and Darral Ward of Ashdown, AR; two sisters, Elizabeth Ward of Memphis, TX and Eunice Ward of Hedley, TX; one brother, Samuel Pounds of Broken Bow, OK; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
