Services for Lilly Reeves, 76, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Canadian, TX with Dr. Jerry Golden, officiating and Ben Mathers, assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Reeves died February 20, 2006 in Canadian, TX. She was born on July 6, 1929 in Graham, TX to the late Mr. G.W. Belyeu and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Belyeu. She was a graduate of Graham High School. She married James “Slim” Reeves on April 15, 1947 in Archer City, TX. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1994. She moved to Canadian, TX in 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Richard Reeves of Longview, TX; four daughters, Teresa Stephenson and husband Kirby of Booker, TX; Laura Reeves of Amarillo, TX; Kathy Mooney and husband Mike of Tyler, TX; Lydia Nix and husband Kevin of Canadian, TX; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Edward Abraham Nursing Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014 or First Baptist Church, 706 Main, Canadian, TX 79014.
