Memorial service for Verna Lou Tibbets Butler, 77, of Canadian, TX, will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God with Rev. Justin Coleman, officiating. A private burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Butler passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. Verna Lou was born January 18, 1938, in Knox City, TX to the late Mr. F.E. “Doc” Tibbets and Mrs. Lou Allie (Yarbrough) Tibbets. She attended school in Rochester, TX. She married Reagan Butler on July 22, 1953 in Rochester, TX. She was a 1964 charter member of Key Heights Baptist Church in Perryton, TX. They moved to Canadian in 1977 from Perryton, TX. Verna Lou helped run Reagan Butler Dozer Service the family business for many years. She was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Reagan Butler of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Gina David of Guymon, OK; LuAnn Flowers and husband David of Perryton, TX; Kelly Butler Laire and husband Dickson of Miami, TX; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Jones and wife Feather of Piedmont, OK; Steven Flowers and wife Veronica of Stinnett, TX; Kevin Flowers and wife Mandy of Canadian, TX; Melissa Flowers of Canadian, TX; Brandon Lee Flowers of Mustang, OK; Jarrod David and wife Tymbra of Dixon, TN; Trint Flowers and wife Leah of Ada, OK; Jill David of Guymon, OK; Daltin Flowers of Booker, TX; Dillon Laire of Miami, TX; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Tibbets of Gainesville, TX; her niece, Gayle Stegall of Abilene, TX; her nephews, Michael Tibbets of Paris, TX; Martin Tibbets of Sedgwick, KS; Bernie Holder of Bonham, TX.
