Dorothy Miller

Services for Mrs. Dorothy Stephens Miller, 83, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Church of Christ with Tom Anderson, officiating. Burial will be in Quail Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX.. Dorothy passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in Wellington, TX. She was born March 29, 1925 in Quail, TX to the late Mr. George T. Stephens and Mrs. Bertha (Quinn) Stephens. She was a graduate of Quail High School. Dorothy also received her degree in education in 1963 from West Texas State University. She married James Oris (Ish) Miller on March 3, 1946 in Wellington, TX. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1986. They moved to Memphis in 1965 from Turkey, TX. Dorothy taught school in Wellington, Turkey and Memphis for 35 years until retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one brother, George W. Stephens and one sister, Mary K. Poteet. She is survived by one son, Steve Miller and wife Suzette of Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter, Mylina Normand and husband David of Memphis, TX; one brother, James Stephens and wife Alice of Odessa, TX; two sisters, Nancy Stephens Phillips of Greenville, TX; Jerri Stephens Martin and husband Tommie of Lakeview, TX; one sister-in-law, Monda Stephens Fults of Pattonville, TX three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
