Evonne Moore

Memorial services for Evonne Moore, 83, of Canadian, TX will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Evonne passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Canadian, TX. Evonne was born April 1, 1932 in Perryton, TX to the late Mr. Oris Bruner and Mrs. Etta Mae (Garrett) Bruner. She was a 1950 graduate of Amarillo High. She married Bill D. Moore on October 19, 1950 in Amarillo, TX. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2008. They moved to Canadian in 1963 from Perryton, TX. Evonne worked for the Canadian Independent School District as the superintendant secretary, then as the business manager and retiring in 1991. She then went back to work as the accounts payable clerk and retired on December 6, 2014. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Canasta Club. She is survived by her son, William Moore and wife Janice of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Susie Odell and husband Dwight of Boise City, OK; Linda Gift and husband Mike of Canadian, TX; one sister, Barbara Walls of Grand Junction, CO; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
