Services for Jack Wright, 69, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Gary Jahnel, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mr. Wright passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Amarillo, Texas. Jack was born January 24, 1940 in Glazier, TX to the late Mr. Clint Wright and Mrs. Annie (Money) Wright. He attended schools in Canadian. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Berlin Crisis. He married Mary Ann Smith on May 18, 1973 in Miami, TX. Jack worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Canadian until retiring in 1996. He was a lifelong resident of Canadian. He was a member of the VFW and the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Wright and three sisters, Mildred Sanders, Maxine Richards and Sharon Pitcock. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Wright of Canadian, TX; two sons, Kelly Wright and wife Brandy of Canadian, TX; Shawn Wright and wife Leann of Wichita Falls, TX; two daughters, Stacy McCartor and husband Mac of Arnett, OK; Sydney Patterson of Taloga, OK; one brother, Larry Wright and wife Marie of Deming, NM; four sisters, Margaret Dowdy and husband Glen of Amarillo, TX; Mary Hart of White Deer, TX; Joan Stovall and husband Lewis and Sandra Griffin all of San Marcus, TX; six grandchildren, Lauren Wright of Wichita Falls, TX; Quade Wright of Canadian, TX; Abby Wright of Wichita Falls, TX; Tayln Wright of Canadian, TX; J.B. McCartor and Marc McCartor both of Arnett, OK. The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
