Graveside services for Shari Patterson, 66, of Canyon, TX, will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Memphis, TX with Tom Anderson, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, TX. Mrs. Patterson passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 in Amarillo, TX. She was born October 4, 1942 in Fort Worth, TX to Mrs. Ruby (Stringer) Gentry and the late Mr. Frank Ross Gentry. She attended schools in Memphis and then went on to graduate from Shattuck High School in Shattuck, OK. She also attended the University of Texas Tech. She married James Andrew Freeman Jr. in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1967. She then married Bobbie Patterson in 1968; he was the one who raised her son, Andy. He preceded her in death in 1996. Shari was a secretary for Bentley’s Auction in Amarillo, TX; she did accounting work and also owned and operated an Antique Shop in Amarillo. She was a member of the Texas Twisters Square Dance Club and the First Baptist Church in Memphis. She is survived by her son, Andy Freeman and wife Janice of Panhandle, TX; her mother, Ruby Lee Gentry of Memphis, TX; two brothers, Gary Gentry and wife Judy of Memphis, TX; Mark Gentry and wife Alexis of Lubbock, TX; one sister, Paula Allen and husband George of Canyon, TX; three grandchildren, Bobbie, Katlynn and Brennon Freeman all of Panhandle, TX and special friend, Jack Moore of Canyon, TX. The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice, 600 N Tyler, Amarillo, TX 79107.
