Howard Yarnold

Services for Mr. Howard Yarnold, 87, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 12, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Schafer, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mr. Yarnold passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Canadian, Texas. Howard was born May 10, 1922 in Gage, OK to the late Mr. Tommy Yarnold and Mrs. Littie (Cox) Yarnold. He was a 1939 graduate of Canadian High School. He married Kathryn Sprague on December 26, 1938 in Arapaho, OK. Howard farmed in the Gem City community until he went to work for Beech Aircraft. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. After returning back to the Gem City community he served as County Commissioner and on the ASCS board. He was also very active in the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Yarnold; one sister, Bess Schultz; his son-in-law, Gene Stock and granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Schafer. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Yarnold of Canadian, TX; two sons, Charles Yarnold and wife Estelle of Alvarado, TX; Keith Yarnold and wife Debbie of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Glenna Schafer and husband Lynard of Canadian, TX; Judy Stock of San Antonio, TX; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Viewing will be available at the First Christian Church Chapel at 402 Purcell Ave in Canadian. The family suggests memorials to the Sonscape Ministries, P.O.
