Graveside services for Joe Courange Jr., 73, of Canadian, TX will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Holy Family Cemetery in Odin, KS with Rev. Wayne Lofton, officiating. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Courange passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in Canadian, TX. Mr. Courange was born on October 28, 1932 in Beaver, KS to the late Mr. Joseph Courange Sr. and Mrs. Mary Demel Courange. He attended grammar school in Hoisington, KS. Joe was a Veteran of the United States Army. He married Frances Grones on June 2, 1956 in Abbott, TX. He moved to Canadian, TX in 1965 from Hoisington, KS. He worked for many years in the oilfield as a roughneck. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Courange, Victor Courange and Irvan Courange and two sisters, Marjorie Cooper and Irene Green. He is survived by two sons, Lee Courange and wife Jana of Canadian, TX; Jody Courange of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Patricia Oldenettel and husband Brien of Haven KS; Janet Courange of Odessa, TX; Donna Courange of Canadian, TX; three brothers, Clarence Courange of Laverne, OK; Jim Courange of Hoisington, KS; Eugene Courange of Pratt, KS; seven sisters, Mary Ann Ash of Canadian, TX; Victoria Hubbarb of Vernal, UT; JoAnn Torrez, Helen Klein, Norma Seyfert and Kay Minoz all of Hoisington, KS; Theresa Hall of Olathe, KS; two grandchildren, Kassie Gilmore and husband Adam of Duncan, OK; Chris Courange and wife Shenna of Canadian, TX The family suggests memorials to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
