Services for Anneta Rutherford, 72, of Glazier, TX, will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Canadian, TX with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating and Bruce Johnson and Rev. Danny Sanders, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Rutherford passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Canadian, TX. Anneta was born January 20, 1937 in Shamrock, TX to the late Mr. Jess Bessire and Mrs. Juanita (King) Bessire. She attended grammar school in Allison, TX and was a 1956 graduate of Canadian High School. She married J.R. Rutherford on August 24, 1957 at the Church of Christ in Canadian, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers. She is survived by her husband, J.R. Rutherford of Glazier, TX; one son, Rex Rutherford of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Connie Jenkins of Noble, OK; Sandy Long and husband John of Glazier, TX; Ginger Cullers of Glazier, TX; two grandchildren, Jacy and Jake Cullers both of Glazier, TX; one step granddaughter, Shawnda Molinar and husband Johnny of Borger, TX; three step great-grandchildren, Heath Stafford and wife Courtney of Borger, TX; Amara and Elijah Molinar both of Borger, TX; one step great-great-granddaughter, Jacy Stafford of Borger, TX and a dear friend for many years, Wanda Rankin and husband James of Canadian, TX. The family suggest memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
