Lottie Billington

Graveside Services for Lottie Allen Billington, 87, of Amarillo, TX, will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2006 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX, with Tom Posey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, TX. Ms. Billington passed away on Friday, April 28, 2006, in Amarillo, TX. She was born on February 22, 1919 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Charlie Edward Allen and Mrs. Jessie (Willis) Allen. She grew up in Hall county. Ms. Billington worked in the shipyards in California in her early married life. She returned to Texas and worked as a nurse for Dr. Odom in Memphis, TX for many years. In 1955, she moved to Ventura, CA, where she worked as a nurse for the American Brake Shoe Company until health problems brought her back to Amarillo, TX in 1972. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Spear of Amarillo, TX, and Barbara Sasser and husband Gene of Memphis, TX; two sisters, Viola Hoglan and Margaret Wiley, both of Oxnard, CA; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
