Theresa Dawn Ballard

Theresa Dawn Ballard, 57, of Higgins, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 5, 2017 in Higgins.   Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Church of Christ, 125 North Jefferson, in Arnett, Oklahoma, with Galen Coffin, minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.   Theresa was born November 26, 1959 in Amarillo. She graduated from Canadian High School and attended the nursing program at Amarillo College. She enjoyed working with and caring for the elderly. During her life, she had many jobs working in the public.   She always loved to be by the ocean, walking the beach, fishing and coloring. She recently found a new passion for sewing and was enjoying Bible study with her aunt LaJuana.   Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Joe Ballard, and her sister, Kimberly Ann Ballard.   Theresa is survived by two sons, Brian Ash and wife Corie of Lipscomb, and David Ash and wife Ann Marie of Willis; her mother, Aliene Ballard of Lipscomb; her sister, Sharon Ellison and husband Bart of Newport, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Teagan, Tessa, Tait Ash of Lipscomb, and Garrett and Gunner Ash of Willis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Higgins Public Library, 201 N. Main, Higgins, Texas 79046.
