Services for Vivian “Ma” Beasley 81, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Golden, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Beasley passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006 in Amarillo, TX. She was born on June 26, 1924 in Edgefield, SC to the late Mr. William Arthur and Josephine Turner Arthur. She was a graduate of Joanna High School in Joanna, SC. She married O'Neal Beasley on May 12, 1945 in Joanna, SC. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1984. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1962 from Anson, TX. She was the owner and operator of Ma Beasley’s Donut Shop for 25 ½ years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served as secretary and treasurer for her Sunday school class. Ma was also a volunteer at the River Valley Pioneer Museum. She is survived by two sons, Larry Beasley of Canadian, TX; Terry Beasley of Tecumseh, OK; four daughters, JoAnn Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK; Vickie Myers of Norman, OK; Brenda Bridges of Amarillo, TX; Pam Beasley Youngsville, LA; one brother, William “Pete’ Arthur of Murrieta, CA; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
