William Davis

Services for William “Pete” Davis, 65, of Canadian, TX will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Canadian, TX with David Young, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Davis passed away Sunday, November 22, in Canadian, TX. Pete was born July 21, 1944 in Tyler, TX to the late Mr. William Davis and Mrs. Dora (Smith) Davis. He attended schools in Altus, OK. He married Delanie Orr in January of 1990 in Blue Ridge, TX. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1992 from Blue Ridge, TX. Pete worked as a mechanic and hauled hay. He is survived by his wife, Delanie Davis of Canadian, TX; two sons, David Cobb of Chancellor, TX; Christopher Cobb of Elk City, OK; five daughters, Teresa Smith of Mesquite, TX; Tammy Stibbens of Kingston, OK; Diane Tutor, Lillie Davis and Shirley Davis all of Canadian, TX; two brothers, Glen Davis of Princeton, TX; James Davis of Mesquite, TX; four sisters, Helen Yates and Glenda Yates both of Granbury, TX; Martha Niggins of Garland, TX; Florene Busby of Elk City, OK; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
