Graveside services for Cleatus Collins, 81, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Dinzel Leonard, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Collins passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Canadian, TX. Cleatus was born July 10, 1928 in Tryon, OK to the late Mr. John Collins and Mrs. Ruth (Bellah) Collins. He attended grammar school at Red Mound and was a 1946 graduate of Carney High School in Carney, OK. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He married Sheila McCabe on September 9, 1949 at the First Baptist Church in Skellytown, TX. They moved to Canadian, TX on February 26, 1966 from Skellytown, TX. Cleatus worked for Magnolia and then went to Phillips Petroleum in Borger, TX. He then went to work for Mobil Oil until retiring in February of 1987. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Canadian, TX. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Lee Collins and his sister, Barbara Gail Collins. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Collins of Canadian, TX; his son, Michael Collins of Canadian, TX.
