Graveside services for William H. (Junior) Adcock, 87, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX with Donald Hill, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Adcock passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Canadian, TX. W.H. was born September 15, 1922 Los Animas County, CO to the late Mr. Hercial Adcock and Mrs. Nora (Mathis) Adcock. He attended school at Gageby and Canadian. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He married Charlene Harper on January 9, 1949 in Wellington, TX. He worked as a ranch hand for the Campbell ranch and later as a heavy equipment operator. W.H. was a member of the First Christian Church and a lifelong resident of Canadian, TX. He was preceded in death by one sister, Letain Gober. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Adcock of Canadian, TX; two sons, Bobby Adcock of Dime Box, TX; Rod Adcock of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Ricki Praeger and Jaquita Adcock-Lilly both of Canadian, TX; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
