Services for David “Weed” Henwood, 66, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God with Rev. Justin Coleman, officiating. Burial will be in Lipscomb Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Henwood passed away November 4, 2006 in Amarillo, TX. He was born on September 29, 1940 in Hemphill County to the late Mr. Dean Henwood and Mrs. Anna Henwood Shore. He was a 1959 graduate of Canadian High School. He then went on and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Texas University. Weed was a life long resident of Canadian, TX. He married Vivian Wheeler on May 31, 1975 at the First Christian Church in Canadian, TX. He worked for West Texas Gas as a measurement supervisor until retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God where he was a deacon for four years. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Henwood of Canadian, TX; one daughter, Jami Royval and husband Gilbert of Canadian, TX; one step son, Mike Cook of Lipscomb, TX; one step daughter, Teri Cook of Amarillo, TX; two brothers, Franklin Henwood and wife Gwen of Amarillo, TX; Jerry Henwood and wife Helen of Kerrville, TX; five grandchildren, Payton Suiter, Jacob Suiter, Riley Suiter, Taylor Royval and Erinn Cook. The family suggests memorials to the Abundant Life Assembly of God, 310 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
