Mary A. Fleeks

Services for Mary A. Fleeks, 84, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006 at the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Coleman, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mrs. Fleeks passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006 in Amarillo, TX. She was born on July 21, 1922 in Benlomond, AR to the late Mr. Elmo Boyd and Mrs. Lorena Nelson Boyd. She attended schools in Benlomond, AR. She married Joe Fleeks on March 1, 1950 in Hollis, OK. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2001. Mrs. Fleeks moved to Hall County in 1949 from Benlomond, AR. She was a homemaker and a member the Eastern Starr and New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Fleeks was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. She is survived by three sons, Clarence Sims and Mariland Sims, both of Amarillo, TX; James Fleeks of Dimmit, TX; two daughters, Lena Darling and Ann Vaughn, both of Amarillo, TX; one brother, Elmo Boyd, Jr. of Troy, OH; twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends, three aunts, Zeola Geiger, Mildred Nelson and Loisetta Smith and one special son-in-law A.J. Darling. Family suggests memorials be sent to New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 617 Violet, Memphis, TX 79245.
