Services for Reno Pepper, 83, of Estelline, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Estelline, TX with Rev. Marlin Felts, officiating and Brother Elvis Pitts, assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Pepper passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Amarillo, TX. He was born on April 27, 1923 in Portales, NM to the late Mr. Robert Pepper and Mrs. Ethel Mae Anderson Pepper. He attended school in Ralls, TX. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He married Irma Perryman on May 19, 1942 in Ralls, TX. They moved to Estelline, TX in 1953 from Dora, NM. Reno was a carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church in Estelline, TX. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lemuel Pepper and one grandson, Bennett Davis. He is survived by his wife Irma Pepper of Estelline, TX; one son, James Pepper and wife Frances of Memphis, TX; two daughters, Jeanette Davis and husband Ben E. of Hammon, OK; Juanna Favors and husband Rich of Grand Prairie, TX; two sisters, Migdon Cox of Rogers, NM; Madeline Peays of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Hughs Funeral Home, 514 N 10th St. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 125, Estelline, TX 79233 or a Favorite Charity.
